Reliance Retail Offers $20 Billion Stake in Retail Business to Amazon

 

Bloomberg reports that Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s company, Reliance Industries Ltd., is offering a $20 billion stake in the company’s retail business to Amazon.com Inc. Reliance is willing to sell as much as a 40% stake in the retail unit.

 


Home Depot Will Cancel Black Friday

 

CNN reports that Home Depot, the home improvement retailer, will take a different approach to the yearly Black Friday’s one-day deep discounts bonanza. Instead of the single-day event after Thanksgiving, it will offer discounts for two months, starting from early November to December.

 


Amazon Plans to Hire 33,000 People

 

ABC13 reports that Amazon plans to hire 33,000 people to fill corporate and tech roles within the next few months. This is the largest number of job openings that the company has had at one time, and the hiring is not the typical hiring ahead of the holiday shopping period.
